The receipt they never send you
There is a document your cloud stack will never issue.
Not an invoice. Not a status page. Not a green check in a vendor dashboard. A receipt — signed over the work itself — that says: this is what ran, this is the hash, this key stands behind it, and we are not claiming operational qualification.
Most “proof” in software is rented atmosphere. Uptime theater. Compliance PDFs. A screenshot of a pipeline that passed last Tuesday. Hosting is not proof. The landlord can reboot your process. They cannot hand you ownership of the evidence.
The secret is almost embarrassing in how small it is: canonical JSON → SHA-256 → Ed25519. One fixture. One public key. One pass or fail in your browser. No account. No platform. No story about “enterprise-grade.”
That is the Big Idea for this lab, exhausted in public: systems that leave a receipt you can verify — or they do not ship.
We will not dress it up. Weathered stone and linen, not chrome. One mechanism. Enough.
